Psychology Majors Attend Conference on Psychology Act of 2009

In line with the preparations for the very first Psychology Board Exam, a Conference on Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Psychology Act of 2009 was attended by Psychology students and faculty last July 11, 2012 at the College of Education Amphitheater. The Conference for the IRR was facilitated by Hon. Miriam P. Cue Ph. D., Chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology of the PRC.
Dr. Cue, a former faculty of the Department of Psychology presented the first draft of the IRR of the Psychology Act of 2009 otherwise known as RA 10029.  The purpose of the conduct of the said activity is to update graduating psychology majors, fresh graduates, practitioners and other concerned individuals for the upcoming Psychology Board Exam this coming August 2013.

Graduates of Batch 2013 will be taking the first Psychology Board Exam for Psychometrician. The Conference oriented the graduating Psychology students about the subject areas for the exam, passing rate, qualifications, and licensing for successful examinees. The qualifications for the Psychology Board Exam for Psychologist were also discussed as well as the qualifications for the application for the licensure of Psychologist and Psychometrician without taking the exam.

The conference was not only attended by CASS Psychology students but also by  Human Resource Managers of private corporations, faculty and students from MSU-Marawi, MSU-Naawan, Xavier University, Pilmico, Department of Labor and Employment, St. Peter’s College, St. Michael’s College, Lourdes College, and other institutions.
The activity was sponsored by the College Of Education and the closing remarks were given by Dr. Adelfa C. Silor, Chairperson of the Department of Professional Education, to conclude the day’s activity.
