CASScade of Cultures: Zooming Into the Societies of CASS

MSU-IIT's College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) has long been recognized as a dynamic hub for student activities, ideas, and initiatives. To introduce and immerse future students into this melting pot of talent and ambition, the CASS Executive Council recently posted video montages of seven distinct societies on their Facebook page, each designed to offer a glimpse into the vibrant realms they represent.

First to grace the screen was the Junior Philosophers’ Guild, projecting a vision for the future, rooted deeply in critical thinking and self-reflection. Their caption, "𝘼𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙖, 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙤 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙!", resonates with their mission to cultivate the future philosophers of the world. Kapilas-Bayan followed suit, emphasizing the significance of the narrative in preserving culture and history. It stressed that stories and songs are more than mere communication tools—they’re the very soul of a culture and a nation. The Political Science Society ventured deeper, highlighting the importance of understanding, empathy, and addressing unspoken realities in our contemporary political landscapes. Their efforts emphasize not just the theory, but the practical significance of political discourse in shaping the modern world.

Viva Historia! The rallying cry of the Historical Society celebrated the continuum of stories from past to present. This society believes that understanding history is pivotal to understanding ourselves and our place in the world. The Psychology Society's yellow ribbon beckoned viewers to explore beyond surface perceptions, diving deep into the complexities of the human psyche. Just as icebergs reveal only a fraction of their mass above water, so does the human mind conceal profound depths waiting to be explored. The Sociology Society, however, prompts us to unravel societal constructs and appreciate the intricate mesh of relationships and roles that define us. Through the lens of sociology, we gain a richer understanding of the societies we live in and the challenges and triumphs they encounter. Lastly, The AB English Organization presents "The Footnotes That Matter". In which they portray their shared stories and memories in ABEO over the years.

The kaleidoscope of these montages, each distinct yet interwoven, exemplifies the diverse student body of CASS. It showcases not just academic pursuits, but the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm with which these societies approach their disciplines. As the videos continue to reach an ever-expanding audience, one message remains clear:

CASS is not just about textbooks and lectures; it's about molding future leaders, thinkers, and influencers of the world.

Join the journey and be part of the narrative.
