Volleyball Pre-Game Heat Up with Close Calls and Surprises

Showcasing the fierce athleticism and competitive spirit of the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) finest players, the air crackled with anticipation as Day 1 of the Men's and Women's Volleyball pre-games concluded earlier today, January 22, at the MSU-IIT Twin Court.

Women's volleyball pre-games kicked off with KAPILAS-Bayan against the Historical Society, but the latter fell 34-40 to Kapilas Bayan. The Political Science Society, on the other hand, outlasted AB English Organization 40-37, securing a narrow victory in a tightly contested duel. Lastly, the Junior Philosopher's Guild edged out the Sociology Society 35-40.

Meanwhile, for men's volleyball preliminaries, KAPILAS-Bayan further pushes away the Historical Society's dream to land a spot for another game with a huge lead of 40-24. On the other hand, ABEO walloped the Political Science Society by a 40-29 record, banking on agitated strikes and the opponent's errors.

The Junior Philosopher's Guild and Sociology Society men's teams are yet to clash with each other.

Teams advancing for another elimination round are set to compete tomorrow including the Psychology Society.

Despite the drizzle and the inconvenience that put the game in a while to halt, the crowd is charged witnessing their bets until the last winning strike, ending the pre-games at almost nine o'clock in the evening.
