With high spirits and a shared sense of tradition, the seven isles gathered at the IDS Multi-Purpose Hall on Friday, January 24, for Laro ng Lahi, an integral highlight of the CASS Days 2025 celebration.
Tug of War
The Junior Philosophers' Guild’s (JPG) Isle of Sophia emerged as the champions in the Tug of War event, with MSU-IIT Historical Society’s (MIHS) Isle of Chronos securing second place, and Literature, Language, and Culture Society’s (LILACS) Isle of Glossa clinching third.
The morning began with an intense match between the Psychology Society’s (PsychSoc) Isle of Psyche and MSU-IIT Historical Society’s (MIHS) Isle of Chronos, where Chronos claimed a decisive victory.
As the games progressed, space limitations became a challenge, with only half of the court available for use. Following deliberations, the ropes serving as boundaries were adjusted to accommodate the full court, ensuring fairer and smoother matches for all participants.
Two more thrilling rounds followed: Political Science Society’s (PSS) Isle of Logos faced off against Junior Philosophers’ Guild’s (JPG) Isle of Sophia, with Sophia claiming a swift and decisive win. With the full court now in use, discussions arose once more, leading to a rematch of the first-round face-off. Granted by the CASS-EC, the match proceeded, only for Psychology Society’s (PsychSoc) Isle of Psyche to once again fall to the dominance of MSU-IIT Historical Society’s (MIHS) Isle of Chronos.
