The team had initially started off strong in the showdown of wits, scoring 7 points in the first round.
Their momentum was kept as they proceeded into the second round, scoring 8 points, which gave the team a total of 15 points in the first half of the competition and allowed them to proceed into the third round as one of the five final teams.
Meanwhile, lagging behind, the College of Education - Integrated Developmental School (CED-IDS) Borealis and Blaze, along with the College of Health Sciences Nyxara, were eliminated early and thus barred from proceeding to the third round.
As the third round rolled around, trouble came for the CASS Tali team. Although they fought an admirable battle, they ultimately were left with a total score of 18 in total points during the culminating round, and were therefore prevented from proceeding into the final round as one of the final three teams.
The CASS Tali settled with a 1-point difference from the College of Economics, Business, and Accountancy (CEBA) Aurelion, who were also eliminated during the ruthless third round.
The final round saw the shortlist of College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), College of Engineering (COE), and the College of Computer Studies (CCS) neck-and-neck with each other.
In the crowning blow, CSM Blynx outlasted the COE Nova in a tie-breaker point that sealed up the race for the title, solidifying CSM Blynx’s streak for three consecutive years.
Tristan Ananoria of CASS Tali simply put up the experience as “fun”. While they did not win, they did not lose their good cheer. All expressed good-hearted riffs towards the mathematical questions and continued to smile.
