In a commendable battle that made spectators jitter on the edge of their seats, CASS Tali and CEBA Aurelion clashed in a thrilling showdown that delivered both elation and heartbreak on the second day of PALAKASAN 2025 Badminton Tournament held at the IBT Sports Center today, April 3.

After the intense exchange of shuttles and their valiant stand, the men’s team bid farewell after a three-set thriller against CEBA Aurelions. Amante started the opening bout of the Singles A match and showcased a barrage of tight net shots and well-placed crosscourt smashes to gain the early lead for the CASS, 31-21.
CEBA did not falter as they won the doubles match against the smashing duos of CASS, Gabatan and Labador, 31-27. The match was very tight during the first half, but CEBA gained the lead and kept their momentum going, equalizing their wins.
The deciding game was a real spectacle to watch as Gabatan competed for the Singles B match with flawless footwork and tricky drop shots. His heavy smashes left the opponent stunned during long rallies. However, the opponent took advantage of the unforced errors at crucial moments to secure the win against CASS Tali, 22-31.
Khen Gabatan, team captain, expressed his gratitude for the team members despite their early exit in the competition. “After being the team captain for three years now, I have seen how everyone improved. The team will strive to achieve better results in the next Palakasan.”

With a dominating performance, the women’s team snatched the win from CEBA Aurelion to stay afloat in the hunt for the podium finish. The Singles match executed pinpoint drop shots and lightning-fast reflexes, dismantling her opponent in a commanding victory, 31-15.
