From Paper to Platform: Mx. IIT Influencer 2026 candidates officially unveiled in press launching, sashing

Introducing new icons of influence, the aspiring candidates for Mx. IIT Influencer 2026 were proudly presented during the contract signing, sashing, and press launching event organized by the Kataastaasang Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral (KASAMA) on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the University Library Theater.

As one of the most awaited events in PALAKASAN 2026, this first phase of the search for the next Mx. IIT Influencer marked the beginning of a new reign: seven new candidates, each aiming to transform their advocacies into tangible change.

Each college sent the best of their lot in the walk to the crown: Mx. Rich Jasper Adonis from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), Mx. Jausten Rhaine Borromeo from the College of Computer Studies (CCS), Mx. Elson John Bagasol from the College of Education and Integrated Developmental School (CED-IDS), Mx. Justine Nicole Bunao from the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), Mx. Joanna Mae Andrada from the College of Engineering (COE), Mx. Marielle Joyce Buot from the College of Health Sciences (CHS), and Mx. Shaniah Keren Madrio from the College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA) who was unavailable at this juncture.

KASAMA President Dave Andrei Garbanzos highlighted the day’s investiture, expressing his sentiments and aspirations for the seven visionaries, as well as the three values the future Mx. IIT Influencer 2026 should uphold throughout their IITian journey: compassion, passion, and self-love.

With fueled visions and the courage to act, the seven influencers affixed their signatures on their contracts representing their vows, intent, and accountability to the IITian community. The sashing of the candidates followed, symbolizing the legitimacy and weight of their forthcoming journey, instilled by the responsibilities into which they are being inducted.

A chance to know more about the candidates was also given through the “chitchat interview” portion, where questions were asked by the IITians themselves. The seven influencers shared their advocacies with full confidence, each unique yet aligned toward the same goal: creating a better future and a stronger IIT.

Pageant director Mx. Manuel Padayogdog then delivered his closing remarks, reminding everyone that in this year’s PALAKASAN, all of us are kalaro, kasama, and kaibigan.

As pre-pageant events continue, the IITian community eagerly awaits to see which candidate will rise to personify excellence and commitment as well as passionately champion their advocacies with compassion.
