CEBA opened the game with an early three-point basket that set the pace for the Griffin Trolls, while CASS struggled with frequent fouls that briefly disrupted their defensive structure.
Despite this, the first quarter remained tight. Player #1 of CASS sparked momentum with successful three-point shots that kept the Spider Trolls within striking distance, as the period ended 21-18 in CEBA’s favor.
The second quarter saw both teams locked at 22, with CEBA’s player #18, emerging as a key contributor through tactical steals and aggressive defense. CASS, however, responded with a decisive scoring run, converting six consecutive two-point field goals. Player #14 stood out during the surge, helping the team seize control of the game.
Even with a penalty, CASS maintained a steady temperament and executed their plays efficiently, heading into halftime with a 39-30 lead. Momentum favored the Cassanova Spider Trolls, whose offensive discipline began to put the Aurie Griffin Trolls on the back foot.
Cassanova extended their advantage in the third quarter, opening with a three-point shot that energized the team and shifted the tempo of the game. Samson, player #12, began to dominate both offensively and defensively, maneuvering the ball aggressively and reading the Griffin Trolls’ formations to create scoring opportunities.
Aurie’s #4 showed flashes of individual brilliance in an attempt to counter, but Cassanova’s flexible ball movement and defensive pressure extended the lead to 61-47 by the end of the quarter.
During the final period, CASS controlled the pace entirely, converting transition opportunities and maintaining disciplined defense to gradually widen the margin to 70-54, ultimately closing the match at 80-61.
Samson was named Player of the Game for his all-around performance. He reflected on the team’s effort, saying, “I gave my everything, and so did my teammates. We finally got our chemistry together this time.”
Meanwhile, player #14 of CASS also highlighted the importance of teamwork and strategy, stating, “We followed the plays and defensive schemes our coach prepared, and trusted each other’s play.”
Despite entering the match as underdogs, CASS’ strong, tactical execution, and disciplined approach secured a resounding win, proclaiming the Spider Trolls’ readiness for the upcoming games in the PALAKASAN 2026.
