KAPILAS-Bayan organized the gift giving activity “Handog Pasasalamat ng KAPILAS-Bayan: Alay Kalusugan Para sa mga Bata ng Barangay Villaverde at Bunawan” last Dec. 17, 2010. Selected students of Villaverde Elementary School received school supplies while over a hundred children of Zone Lagundang, Barangay Bunawan were treated to a lunch. The children of Bunawan also received clothing, shoes, school supplies, books, and FERN-C capsules.
Some members of our organization do not celebrate Christmas like our Muslim brothers and sisters, and other religious groups. The officers decided to organize thanksgiving activities in lieu of having our own Christmas Party. Our organization believes that these activities will not just benefit the communities but will also teach us how to help other people in our own little way, especially those who are really in need, said Rafunzel Agatha J. Sison, the project manager of the said activities.
KAPILAS-Bayan President Ivy Caingles Victorio with the guidance of Dr. Marie Joy D. Banawa, the Department’s Chairperson spearheaded the activities which were fully supported by the students and the faculty members.
