Once again, through the Charter Day program, students, faculty, and staff were honored for their respective achievements, service and excellence.
Fifty faculty members, 63 administrative staff and 23 retirees were recognized and have received tributes and awards for their loyalty and services to the Institute. Six colleges were also acknowledged with citation and received recognition, namely: CASS, CSM, CED, CBAA, CON, and COE. CASS was acknowledged for its Level 3 AACCUP Accredited programs in BS Psychology and Social Sciences.
The Charter Day program was held at the gymnasium and it was graced by the MSU System President Macapado A. Muslim and Congressman Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, Representative of the Lone District of San Juan City who served as this year’s guest of honor.
The week-long celebration started with a soft opening on July 4 which featured the Literary and Sports Events as well as the start of the Night Café that operated from 5:00PM to 10:00PM.
An Environmental Run for a Cause named as “Bottle Run” was conducted at 6:00AM on July 7. The fun-run activity has the mission of collecting 2.5L empty plastic bottles per participants. On the same day, the Laro ng Lahi which featured Pinoy gameswere also held outside the gymnasium.
On the 12th of July, the Charter Day of the institute, activities like the Military Honors at the IIT Lawn and the Motorcade and Float Parade brought color to the celebration.
A motorcade and float parade, led by the officials, faculty, staff, guests, KASAMA officers and the students of the Institute was held on July 12. The colleges and schools showcased movie-inspired floats that featured Rio, Madagascar, Wrath of the Titans, The Ring, the Avengers, Snow White and the Huntsman and many more.
Themed as, “MSU-IIT GOING BEYOND BORDERS, Challenging Wisdom and Intellect”, a week-long celebration for the 44th Charter Day of the Institute took place from July 4 – July 6, 2012.
