CASS Vouches More Fun, Eyes Support Through Funds



In the rundown for the proposed budget for the Academic Year 2022-2023, the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) Executive Council (EC) revealed various initiatives and upcoming student-centered activities during the General Assembly and Acquaintance Party (GAAP) last October 14, 2022.

The first activity held by the CASS EC was the Welcoming Week 2022, which amounted to P11, 000.00. Then, the General Project amounting to P52,000.00, which was used for the aquarium, tables and benches on the deck, and the acquisition of CASS EC supplies, and the food used for the CASSalo project. For World Teacher’s Day, the EC allocated P5,000.00. Moreover, the allotted budget for the CASS GAAP was P9, 000.00.

Mired by time and financial constraints, CASS EC nevertheless pushed through the GAAP as it is the first major face-to-face College Celebration after its hiatus brought about by the pandemic.

The recently concluded General Assembly and Acquaintance Party (GAAP) is only one of the major events on the long list carried on by the college.

The money earmarked for the upcoming activities such as the institute SNAP is P35, 000.00 which includes the bench cheering, CASS booth, Drag Queen IIT, college montage; and for the Institute Palakasan 2022, the allotted budget is P170, 000.00 including the pop dance, interpretative dance, and other activities for the event.

Press & Pub Acquisition of Materials was allocated P10, 000.00. For the Creation of College EC Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), P1, 000.00. The Community Extension, P6,000.00. And for the Contingency Fund, P6, 000.00, which will be used for the unexpected expenses by the CASS EC. The CASSayuran was also allotted a P15, 000.00 budget for the organization to utilize in publishing their materials.

Thus, the collection of 200 pesos assessment fee was considered to seek support for these programs.
