Hello Win: CASS Arachnids Clinch Spooktober Titles In Featuring Talent and Artistry

Student representatives from the seven societies of the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) showcased their talent and passion for the visual and performing arts at various junctures during the CASS General Assembly and Acquaintance Party (GAAP) last October 14, 2022, held at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium.

CASS Arachnids wore their spookiest outfits per the GAAP’s theme—CASS Spooktober. Likewise, students representing their respective societies were chosen on the day of the event and judged accordingly.

The Sociology Society emerged as the Champion Icon for the Spooktober Icon 2022. Their representatives recreated the roles of Ivy Aguas from the hit tv series Wildflower and the Killer Bride. Likewise, the audience was enthralled even more when the natural forces of thunder gave subtle sound effects after the delivery of their pieces.

On the other hand, coming in first place is the Kapilas-Bayan. Their representatives disparaged death as they dressed up as a vampire and bloody bride, respectively. The Psychology Society claimed second place, as their representatives dressed up as characters from the movie, The Purge.

The show continued with the representatives exhibiting their talent in singing and dancing as they performed live on stage in the Dance Showdown and Acoustic Jam.

The Political Science Society representative swept the dance floor with sensational dance moves and was titled the champion of the Dance Showdown. He started his performance by climbing up the ladder placed on the stage as decoration. When he reached a certain point, the representative took the audience’s breath away by jumping from the ladder and continued to dance to the rhythm with energy and enthusiasm to match.

Coming in first and second place, the AB English Organization and Kapilas Bayan representatives showcased their skills in dancing on stage with much enthusiasm and cheers from the crowd.

Serenading the audience with their acoustic jam performance, the AB English Organization captivated the audience and won as the champion for the Acoustic Jam. The Historical Society came first, and the Psychology Society claimed second place.
