Crawling to the Top Historical Society ascends the throne in ML Finals against PolSci, 4-1

Kamang-damang!

From losing in the first round of Preliminaries to dominating the Finals, the Historical Society spared no effort in completely annihilating the lower bracket tournaments and crawling back to the top as champions in today’s best-of-7 match against the upper bracket’s reigning team, the Political Science Society. During the competition’s most ferocious match yet, both teams outdid themselves in a passionate struggle for gold in an almost three-hour battle this morning, February 22. While the Political Science team sealed the first point at the start of the tournament, the History team did not back down and turned the tables on them during the next set of matches. The latter eventually ascended the throne with a 4-1 score.

The winning team from the Historical Society is composed of the following players: Jorge Semblanie - SKADD, Paul Premacio - Pol, Anthony Barolo - AGAPI, Jeral Soyson – Dlar, Lei Axel Muyco – Zulushi, and Rey Anthony Abucayon – WanD.

When asked how their team was able to bounce back from dropping to the lower brackets, Jorge Semblanie, Captain of the Historical Society ML Team shared that planning, analyzing, and maintaining discipline played big roles.

“When we faced the PolSci team in the Preliminaries, we all felt really down. Our main problem during that tournament was the internet connection. It was still the first game and yet we were already losing. So, when we won against Philosophy in a second round of eliminations, we slowly regained hope. We planned and analyzed our games and made sure that discipline was always present within our games. Eventually, we reached to Finals,” Semblanie expressed.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the Political Science team was their strongest opponent. Although he felt it was hard, he stated that the end made it worth it and described their battle as a ‘good game’. As part of the series of events celebrating CASSadya 2023, today’s Final Round tournament concluded the four-day Esports: Mobile Legends double-elimination competition. Rankings of all the teams are as follows: History in 1st, Political Science in 2nd, Psychology in 3rd, Sociology in 4th, KAPILAS-Bayan in 5th, ABEO in 6th, Philosophy in 7th, and CASS EC in 8th.
