Wrap it up!

The trifecta of smiles, sense of fulfillment, and anticipation blessed the faces of the CASS students during the awarding ceremony where they hoped to be one of those who can win to expose their respective departments to grandeur and strength. Raising their department’s name in the frontline of their fight is no easy feat which makes them all deserving of the recognition. To see the sense of pride in their faces before the result says a lot about the determination of participants to win the contests they aligned themselves in.

The hope in their faces fuel the hearts of their families who knew that they fought bearing their society’s “tatak” of being a one of them. Amidst the fact that this venue reveals the worth of their effort, there is the silent agreement to all competing societies that the results would not in any way cause any residual effect to the respect and love they have for their participants. And so it began.

When the clock strikes and there is no more sun to witness, the rectangular hall is filled with dancing neon lights from crystal balls. The CASSAdya conclusion was engulfed by the roaring cheers and loud drums coming from the societies. As the host announced the winners, the hype and energy of each society were immense. Eager to hear their society's name, their cheer dominated the MSU-IIT IDS Multipurpose Hall.

When the curtain falls, blood, sweat, and tears are felt more than the times it’s shed. For the societies that lost their recognition, it was more than just "still, congrats" or "at least you did or we did our best," but they reflected to fight beyond what limits them, to do their best; hence, it was never an easy fight or feat for the winners. For the losses represent something more than the cuts and limits. It represents the spirit you carry with you to fight for your home. Meanwhile, in the victor’s table is a song of praise not for the victory but the joyous realization of bringing honor to the family’s feast. Seven societies, seven homes, seven families concluded the battle of strategies, wits, and talent. CASSadya2023 ended with three society chants claiming the top three spots for overall winners. In ascending order comes the vigor from our top three.

Entering from the proud society of Sociology, the energetic force that arouses our inner playfulness raises the roof with the call;

“Kiat Socio! Kiat Socio! Kiat Socio!”

Hailing from the mighty society of Psychology, the encouraging air that harbors belongingness surrounds the festive shout;

“Libido, Psych Psych Psych! Libido, Psych Psych Psych! Libido, Psych Psych Psych!”

Dominating from the well-built society of Political Science, the deafening roar of the champions showed how to defend its throne. After raising the rainbow flag in the fantastic duo, the Political Science Society aimed to hold power to stand with it, and they certainly did prove that they could raise their banner standing at the end of it.

“Sikhay PolSci! Sikhay PolSci! Sikhay PolSci!”

Just like the saying goes, there’s a rainbow after the rain. The CASSadya 2023 may have started raining, but the seven (7) societies of CASS showed that by their uniqueness, talent, wit, and certainly creativity, they showcased a literary of despite the differences to ace the competition, together they showed unity. And among the societies, there were two that were able to pull themselves together to go near the end of the rainbow, but one society was able to go further by standing at the end of it.

A befitting end for the first CASS days of these four year levels has commenced with an exemplary conclusion. Once again, congratulations to the Political Science Society, Psychology Society, Sociology Society, English Society, Filipino Society, History Society, and Philosophy Society.

Continue to be CASSadya, to bring CASSadya, to share CASSadya!
