“Beauty, Brains and Beyond”

Beginning with a bang, representatives from every college displayed their skills and talents at the MSU-IIT Palakasan opening. But, in the midst of it all, all eyes were on Jelie Sajulla Malmis, the young woman representing the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) for Mx. IIT Influencer.

Even before the event, Jelie was already a sensation on social media. Her updates and photo shoots showed her dedication and hard work in the contest, but what made her stand out was her intelligence and kindness, which earned her the respect of many.

Jelie's advocacy for countering disinformation and empowering voters was her way of making a difference in her community. She was a force to be reckoned with, and her passion and drive inspired others to take action. As she has said on several occassions, "let their influence, influence us," which marks a queen that is ready, but also humble enough to recognize the signifiance of others.

Jelie entered the stage wearing the green CASS t-shirt and towering heels. She added her own flair to every step, walking with assurance and a knowing smile. Her performance was an outstanding example of both her talent and, more importantly, her character. Throughout her performance, Jelie constantly looked towards her right, where her fellow Arachnids were cheering her on. She waved and blew kisses to them, letting them know that she felt their support and love.

Jelie's performance at the Palakasan showed that she was not just a pretty face, but a true leader who was dedicated to making a positive impact on the world around her. After the event, as the crowds swarmed around her, Jelie remained humble and gracious, greeting each person with a smile and a kind word.

Jelie's advocacy for countering disinformation and empowering voters is more important now than ever before. With the prevalence of manufactured disinformation, Jelie's dedication to fighting against it is a noble cause. Her passion for empowering voters also shows her commitment to ensuring that every voice is heard, and every vote counts.

As Mx. IIT Influencer, Jelie has a platform to effect positive change and empower others to do the same. It is clear that she will make a significant impact in society, and we can't wait to see what she does next.

Hannah contributes to the college publication CASSayuran, which is from CASS, for CASS, and by CASS. She is a fourth-year sociology major at MSU-IIT. She is passionate in writing and literature, and while she was in junior high school, she majored in creative writing.
