The seven colleges of MSU-IIT eagerly anticipate the Palakasan Awarding Night—a night to honor excellence, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Seven colleges competed against one another this year in a variety of categories in an effort to win the coveted Champion's trophy. The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) stood out among them, strongly finishing fourth in the overall championship, as a force to be reckoned with. It was a night to remember where arachnids' webs of prodigious abilities were recognized, awarded, and celebrated.
Aside from the debate team's success from the earlier Preliminaries to the Grand Finals, the college's talent in sports was not to be underestimated either. CASS placed 3rd in chess in the women's department, table tennis in the men's department, futsal men's department, and volleyball in both men's and women's departments. The achievements of their athletes were a testament to their skill and training, proving that CASS was home to some of the best athletes on campus.
CASS was also able to tug home the championship trophy in the Laro ng Lahi competition, further cementing its reputation as a college with athletic prowess. Their incredible success was not limited to just physical sports, however. CASS also glistened in the Esports category, placing 3rd in Mobile Legends. This remarkable feat demonstrated the college's versatility and ability to excel in strategic and critical thinking, earning them a triple kill!
Besides sports and academic competitions, CASS also stood out in other categories, such as Project Pitching, where they placed 2nd and 3rd in bench cheering. Their efforts in these categories showcased their creativity and versatility. Moreover, CASS created history, breaking barriers by winning the first-ever drag queen contest, displaying their open-mindedness, and breaking stereotypes. They also placed 3rd in Mx. Influencer and was hailed as Mx. Goodwill, which resulted in them placing 2nd in special events.
The Arachnids of CASS may have placed fourth runner-up in the overall championship, but their efforts and hard work were recognized, and they went home with pride, knowing that they were champions in their own right. Palakasan was a memorable journey, and the relationships they built along the way made it truly special.
CASS proved that they were not just students with brains and brawn but also with a heart and unwavering determination. Their journey to Palakasan was not just about winning but about building solid relationships and striving for excellence. The Arachnids of CASS were pinakamalaCASS – the best of the best, leaving an indelible mark on the competition and inspiring their fellow students to strive for greatness.
