Day two of LSPIC Begins

The 5th International Conference of the Linguistic Society of the Philippines is underway at the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) for its second day today. The International Conference began last 27 April and has a jam-packed schedule with various activities lined up for its second day.

The second day included two concurrent sessions, D and E, featuring themed panels and parallel paper presentations at their designated areas. Another round of Poster Presentations at the Gymnasium (the Plenary Hall) will follow the concurrent session.

Subsequently, the second Plenary Session featuring Professor Steven Patrick Fernandez will take place at the same Plenary Hall. Dr. Fernandez’s presentation highlights the cultural manifestations through grammar images and nonverbal texts.

After Professor Fernandez's presentation, three concurrent workshops are included to take place. To wrap up the second day, attendees will participate in the Gabi ng Sining, followed by a Conference Dinner.

The International Conference commenced on April 27th and will continue until April 29th 2023 at MSU-IIT.

Reggy H. Bartido is a Senior BA (Sociology) undergraduate student at the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT). Currently, Mr. Bartido is the Editor-in-Chief of CASSayuran - the Official Student Publication of the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) of MSU-IIT. Mr. Bartido's undergraduate thesis centres around Environmental Sociology studies and Sustainable Development. Additionally, he is keenly interested in Youth Studies and Political Sociology, where he continues exploring new insights and perspectives. Likewise, Mr. Bartido was a participant of the Ateneo School of Government and participate PH sponsored training on Campus Media: Media Ethics and Democracy in Action held at Ateneo De Manila University, last November 2022. The training was attended by 30 campus journalists over the country. Mr. Bartido was also given a participant status at the SAPA Mindanao Workshop for Journalism last February 2023 during the FEMSUSCO Meet.
