Adding an interactive flair to their exhibit, JPG Mayor Queenie Joy Cabatingan shared their aim of assisting curious students by providing trivia questions and answers about the philosophy course, a major often shrouded in mystery for many.
“Here in the Department of Philosophy and Humanities, we prepare ourselves to become agents of positive and transformative change by engaging in activities that encourage healthy discourse and communication as well as urging students to participate in conferences outside the institute,” Cabatingan emphasized in a written interview.
The JPG Mayor underscored JPG’s core mission of nurturing students’ innovativeness and instilling a commitment in implementing ethical standards when dealing with issues within academia and even in society.
“To those who might be interested in delving into the world of philosophy, we can assure you that the program BS Philosophy Major in Applied Ethics can provide you with an array of philosophical ideas and ethical dimensions that would be relevant to various fields,” she pointed out.
As part of the Welcome Week festivities, the 2023 Organization Fair shines as a significant highlight since it offers students the chance to explore and join organizations aligned with their interests. On August 23, the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) kicked off the fair by unveiling the booths of its seven societies.
