Leamarie, an English major at MSU-IIT, clinched the title of Miss Poblacion Iligan 2023, adding this accomplishment to an already impressive collection that includes awards such as Best in Closed-Door Interview, Miss VortexWear Choice, Miss CAP-Cakes Choice, Miss StzClothing Ambassador, Miss Congenial, and Miss Social Media Choice.
Finding inspiration in the accomplishments of queens from ABEO, such as Kimberly Ballares, the reigning Miss Manticao, and a contender for Miss Iligan 2023, as well as Threcia Digamon, the titleholder of both Miss Iligan 2019 and Ms. Lanao Del Norte 2023, Leamarie emphasizes how her academic path at MSU-IIT has empowered her voice. "ABEO has been creating queens not just by teaching English but by emphasizing the importance of eloquence, the grace of public speaking, and the audacity to voice our advocacies," expressed Hempesao.
