The Sociology Society offered a telling glimpse into their authentic essence and spirit as they adorned their booth with elements that mirrored the core of their degree program, featuring past awards as well as books and guides relevant to their course.
Delving further beyond the fair itself, Jayson Abad, Mayor of the Sociology Society talked of their team’s aim of instigating positive change this academic year through events and initiatives that will enrich fellow students’ educational experiences and cultivate a supportive environment.
“More than just the sociological theories are the sociological practices. Through strategic and impactful initiatives, we long to offer academic resources, curate educational events, and facilitate thought-provoking discussions that highlight the transformative potential of sociological thought and inquiry,” Abad detailed in a written interview, referring to their society’s main focus.
When asked about what he would like to say to fellow students and aspiring society members, the Socio Mayor advised to seize every opportunity available, sharing that embracing involvement not only provides a productive break from academic pressures but also serves as a valuable avenue for honing skills and forging connections.
“We commit to ensuring all of our fellow students are on the right track in achieving their aspirations for themselves and for the wider society,” he highlighted.
