During the succinct proclamation event, Lugille Castardo of TINGOG was officially announced as the newly elected KASAMA President. She, along with her newly appointed slate of officers, conveyed individual messages addressing their constituents.
The official 2023 line-up is as follows: Lugille Castardo as President, Chester Tagacay as Vice President, and Hannah Polangi, Mary Grace Cabalhin, Ariel II Ebale, Lanna Mae Balaba, Naim Saad, Alfrem Mogan, Hermione Sansona, as well as Cris Enterone as Senators.
With a decisive triumph, Castardo of TINGOG claimed the presidency, amassing 2649 votes out of the total ballots cast. Meanwhile, Sachie Medina, the Lihok-ASTIG presidentiable, garnered 1347 votes.
Tagacay, the only candidate for the Vice Presidential position, achieved the highest number of votes among the new line-up, securing 3802 votes. On the other hand, independent candidate Hannah Polangi took the lead in the senatorial race with 3185 votes.
In the aftermath of recent dynamic events during the campaign period, this 2023 electorial event witnessed a 41.97% voter turnout, a substantial 10.689% increase from the previous election.
The 2023 KASAMA Special Election marks another momentous occasion in the institution’s commitment to democracy. Students have voiced out their choices, and it is now up to the new officers to make good use of the faith vested in them.
