COME ALONG WITH ME: IITians Embark on a Promise of Adventure for Palakasan 2024

Womping bang. Stomping clang. Call the gang, cause it’s Adventure Time!


MSU-IIT, ILIGAN CITY—Bannering the theme, “Embark on the Adventure, Forge your Legacy, and Wield Influence”, seven kingdoms from the Land of Ooo have drawn their sword to the looming quest for feat that await them as this year's Palakasan commenced on April 27, 2024.


Officially declared by the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology’s (MSU-IIT) university Chancellor, Alizedney Ditucalan, the event signaled the unfolding of festivities through a showcase of camaraderie.


“Extend a helping hand to one another, express kindness and compassion in every interaction both within our academic pursuits and our palakasan adventures,” the Chancellor remarked in his opening speech.


Adding swing from stints of vibrant start, Executive Councils (EC) from the different colleges marched with the sound of their band, catching the cheers from their dome’s crowd.


The program proceeded with the awarding of the top three best icons of the MSU-IIT Cats, and the launching of “Alab” as the official MSU - IIT icon. Echoes and Hype It Up, along with student-athletes, delivered electrifying performances that set the tone for the opening salvo.


The celebration continued with a phenomenal showcase by the Orion Dance Group, fresh off their 2nd place win in the World of Dance Philippines 2024's College Division. Their nationally recognized talent shared the grace of the momentous Palakasan stage, marking a win for an anticipated win. The pride of Iligan City, the Streetmovers, also set the stage ablaze with their fiery passion for performing. IITians once again proved their talent, as evidenced by their performances.


Meanwhile, laughter filled the gymnasium as the college mascots engaged in a fun interaction during the battle for the best dancers in a ‘Random Dance’ challenge. Adding to the fun, the KASAMA president also indulged the college mascots chatting with them about their excitement of representing their colleges.


Together with the top athlete, Walter Sam Jr. , the KASAMA president, Chester Laurie Tagacay, and the governors heralding their seven kingdoms, lit the torch that symbolizes the opening of the Palakasan 2024.


Now that the torch illuminates all throughout the Land of Ooo until the 30th of April, these beaming rays shall cast its light for those who spell ‘might’ with a dignified and friendly fight.
