The Lethal Arachnids hustled on defense from the Flaming Dragons, soaring an 86-51 outcome in favor of the College of Engineering, during the basketball pre-games held at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium, on April 11, 2024.

The Dragons dominated from the tip-off, building a commanding lead early. The Arachnids struggled to keep pace, falling behind by double digits after the first quarter, setting the tone of the game at 18-9.

The deficit continued to grow in the second quarter, stalling at 45-25 with the Dragons maintaining their dominance and displaying a well-oiled offense. However, sparks emerged for the Arachnids as they started to find their footing defensively.

The second half saw a shift in momentum. The Arachnids tightened their defense, forcing turnovers and contesting shots. While the Dragons remained in control, leading 65-41 after the third quarter, the Arachnids showed a significant improvement in intensity, refusing to be completely dominated.

Nevertheless, the Arachnids persisted in the final frame, highlighting their never-say-die attitude. While the Dragons secured the win, the Arachnids' determination and improved play in the second half offered a promising outlook for another set of upcoming matches.
