Professor Miriam Coronel Ferrer, a 2023 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of the discipline and the need to deepen its knowledge to better comprehend and reshape the world. Ferrer highlighted the necessity for scholars and practitioners of Political Science to rethink and redefine boundaries within various contexts. She further elucidated that this year’s PPSA International Conference theme serves as a call to rethink traditional divisions and create spaces that reflect a more inclusive and equitable understanding of society and culture.

The opening ceremony commenced with remarks from MSU-IIT Chancellor Alizedney Ditucalan, followed by a message from Ms. Daniela Braun, the Country Director of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. Dr. Jan Robert R. Go, President of the PPSA also delivered his opening remarks, highlighting the goals of this year’s international conference and extending a warm welcome to the participants.
