CASStify: Bringing CASS in Harmonious Upbeat

The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) welcoming program was turned into a soundtrack of camaraderie and celebration as students flocked the corridors with cheers that breathed life into the community once more, on August 12, Monday.

Inspired by the music streaming platform Spotify, creatively fused in concept as ‘CASStify’, freshies and upperclassmen groove off on the right foot at the CASS Lawn on their first day for the institute-level Panaghiusa 2024.

Mx. IIT Influencer 2024, Valerie Acama and September Marie Daohog, hosted the program along with the CASS Executive Council. The event featured the introduction of officers and was graced by Mr. CASS Jay Mark Gac-ang.

Following various performances, the event saw the active participation of students in engaging ice breakers equivalent to prizes such as CASS EC merchandise.

Drag superstars Vanilla Maxwell and Prima Bella, together with drag artists from the House of Arachnae, Margot D'vills, Jaya Gemini, and the special participation of Yve Kay, stunned the crowd with their special performance through a community dance.

Meanwhile, the seven (7) societies of CASS showcased an array of delectables, merch, and gimmicks on their mounted booths at the CASS new building lobby.

More so, Acama’s Project ABEL, a platform she advanced during her bid for the Mx. Influencer title, earned the spotlight with its growing number of volunteers and interested individuals in their first-ever booth installment in the CASS old building lobby.

History? Histo-three!

The Historical Society, in a much-anticipated highlight of every welcoming program, has once again echoed in the annals of opening week society chants as champions.

This is the third consecutive win of the Historical Society since the comeback of annual in-person welcoming programs.

Incorporating purpose in their yell, the declaration inches closer with their chant accentuating their stance against historical denialism.

Tomorrow marks the second day of Panaghiusa 2024, with an orientation and shepherding of freshmen students in the morning, which will be followed by the institute-wide opening program in the afternoon.
