The battle for the crown in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) competition resumed on Saturday, January 25, with four standout isles sweeping the stage in a thrilling series of seven matchups.
The Psychology Society’s (PsychSoc) Isle of Psyche showcased exceptional perseverance and teamwork, earning consecutive victories against the Junior Philosophers’ Guild’s (JPG) Isle of Sophia and the Kabataang Pilipinong Aakay sa Bayan’s (KAPILAS-Bayan) Isle of Neoleides in straight matches.
Similarly, the MSU-IIT Sociology Society’s (MISS) Isle of Koinos delivered a stellar performance with two wins in their favor: one by default against the MSU-IIT Historical Society’s (MIHS) Isle of Chronos and another in a hard-fought battle against the Political Science Society’s (PSS) Isle of Logos.
However, in a fierce test of ‘survival of the fittest,’ both Isle of Psyche and Isle of Koinos, despite their strong momentum, fell short against the resurgent Isle of Chronos. Recovering from their earlier default loss, Isle of Chronos swept through their remaining matches, eliminating three strong contenders: Logos, Psyche, and Koinos, from the championship race.
Meanwhile, the tournament’s undefeated frontrunner in the winner’s bracket, the Literature, Language, and Culture Society’s (LILACS) Isle of Glossa, maintained their streak of glory. Undefeated in last week’s opening round, they extended their winning streak by overpowering the Isle of Koinos in Game 9.
With the dust settled, two formidable teams remain standing. The grand finals, set to take place this morning, January 27, will feature an epic showdown between powerhouses, LILACS’ Isle of Glossa and MIHS’ Isle of Chronos.
