by John Vincent Balustre

Advancing current milestones to further breakthroughs, faculty and staff of the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) gathered in the CASS in Motion General Assembly, held at the University Mini Theater on Friday, January 24.

Along with the presentation of progress for departments and units that comprise CASS, new members of its growing community of educators and dedicated personnel, share the stage with an introductory welcome.

The assembly featured discussions that contribute to internationalization and other undertakings that ensure the competitive and quality education of programs offered by the departments in the college.

Dean Marie Joy Banawa also bared agenda items such as strengthening the mandate of faculty members, improving and maintaining facilities and equipment, working on the certificate of program compliance for graduate studies, and preparing for the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance.

Asst. Dean Sittie Noffaisah Pasandalan, on the other hand, presented figures reflective of the productivity of the college and its financial standing.

Following the program, faculty and staff enjoyed a buffet together in the CASS New Building Lobby.

Subsequently, grooving to the hit song APT by Bruno Mars and Rosé, faculty and staff joined students in the spirit of competition as each department clashed in entertaining performances from various renditions of the mainstream.

The Departamento ng Filipino at Panitikan was declared the winner in the dance challenge, having a close call with the Department of English. The former received a prize of three thousand pesos and two thousand worth of goodies, while the remaining departments all received a thousand pesos.

With reflexes jolting at every beat, the heart and soul of the institute struck a dynamic beat of festivity and productivity in its legacy—enough to ascertain that CASS is indeed in motion.
