In a fierce competition between the Isles of Wisdom during the 2025 CASS Days Quiz Bowl, the Psychology Society’s (PsychSoc) Isle of Psyche proved themselves as the ultimate champions, finishing with a nine-point lead over their fellow competitors this morning, January 24.
Starting strong and maintaining their momentum, Psyche showcased not only their intellectual prowess but also the wisdom of their years. The Junior Philosophers’ Guild (JPG) Isle of Sophia earned a well-deserved first runner-up spot, closely followed by the Political Science Society’s (PSS) Isle of Logos as the second runner-up.
With a significant boost from the final two rounds—the Difficult Round, where questions were worth five points each, and the Final Round, which featured a single question worth a whopping ten points—the Isle of Psyche gained a total of 32 points. Sophia and Logos followed each other closely with a mere one-point difference, with the former finishing at 23 points while the latter at 22 points.
As the competition progressed from the Average Round into the Difficult Round, a question arose regarding the event guidelines concerning the basis of elimination for the Literature, Language, and Culture Society’s (LILACS) Isle of Glossa and the MSU-IIT Sociology Society’s (MISS) Isle of Koinos from the remaining two rounds.
After a brief discussion between the participants and the event organizers, a consensus was reached, resulting in the elimination of Glossa who had a cumulative score of 21, and Koinos, who had scored 20 in total.
In the same round, Psyche and Logos both accumulated 22 points so far, while Sophia led with 23. Meanwhile, KAPILAS-Bayan’s Isle of Neoleides was not able to compete in the event as they did not arrive on time.
Reflecting on their victory, PsychSoc’s Airlene Grace Lagas attributed their success to teamwork, quoting, “Teamwork makes the dream work.” Meanwhile, fellow teammate, Tristan Ananoria, added, “All we did was enjoy,” while sporting a proud smile.
With their easygoing attitude and mutual trust, the Isle of Psyche showed that, whether in sports, academics, or any adventure, the key to success is to enjoy the journey together.
