Rewriting History: Glossa topples Chronos in MLBB Grand Finals, 2-1

by Andrea Ross Sedero

A new reign begins.

With an impressive undefeated streak, the Literature, Language, and Culture Society’s (LILACS) Isle of Glossa has been crowned the new victors in Narnia’s Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) competition, conquering the MSU-IIT Historical Society’s (MIHS) Isle of Chronos in a thrilling best-of-three Grand Finals on January 27.

Glossa left no stone unturned in maintaining their momentum, even with their twice-to-beat advantage, securing Round 1 in a nail-biting 20-17 game against Chronos. Online audiences were on the edge of their seats as both teams fiercely matched each other’s every move, taking jabs at one another’s bases.

Chronos turned the tables on Glossa in Round 2, displaying remarkable tenacity as they secured a 25-14 victory. Despite Glossa’s status as the tournament’s top contender, Chronos proved they were more than up to the challenge of ascension.

With the title of champions just one victory away, both powerhouses gave it their all in the crucial final round. In just 20 minutes, Glossa struck with precision, destroying Chronos’ base and concluding the tournament at 24-21.

Previous years of CASS Days’ MLBB tournaments saw champions rising from the depths of adversity. In 2023, MIHS clawed their way to the top from the lower brackets after losing their opening match, blazing through the competition to claim the crown. Similarly, the 2024 champions, the Junior Philosophers’ Guild (JPG), fell to rock bottom, overcoming numerous setbacks before rising to taste the glory of victory.

This year, LILACS’ golden path to their crown carved a new narrative, standing apart from the past two years’ underdog triumphs. Their reign sets a new precedent, marking a fresh chapter in Narnia’s MLBB history.
