CASS Days 2025 continues the exciting journey through the Isles of Wisdom, this time stepping into the astounding realm of dance. On the afternoon of January 27, 2025, performers and audiences set foot in a magical domain of rhythm and emotion, as passion and movement turn the stage into an otherworldly scene.
The lyrical dance competition enthralled the audience with dramatic performances that spoke of emotions buried and lost, all through Sarah Geronimo's melancholic ballad Isa Pang Araw. Each society owned the stage and came out with their unique interpretations. Gentle steps and sweeping motions hinted at unfulfilled desires that lingered after the performance, creating an aura suspended in time.
From the heartbreaking stories of lovers, friends, and even family, the performances expressed an unfulfilled yearning for one more day. One of the judges, Mr. Martin Salvaloza, remarked that the one-minute version of the song felt “bitin,” of the heartfelt portrayals that played out on stage.
Beyond the solemnity of the lyrical dance, an explosion of energy and flair came as the pop dance competition started. The crowd was instantly energized as each society took the stage, delivering exhilarating routines set to a range of music—from P-pop hits like "Salamin, Salamin" by Bini to K-pop, Western, and OPM favorites from the Kapilas-Bayan.
The stage grew into a vibrant exhibition of artistic skill with a variety of precise movements and exhilarating transitions that kept the audience on their feet as societies infused their performances with their unique flavors. Each performance had the embodiment of skill and creativity: precise movements, playful improvisations, and powerful stories.
As this year's CASS Days draw to its near end, the energy remains palpable, and the anticipation only grows. CASS, once again, has proven to be a place where creativity and magic know no bounds.
