The College of Arts and Social Sciences’ (CASS) Tali got off to an impressive start, defeating the College of Engineering’s (COE) Nova in straight sets, 2-0, in the PALAKASAN men’s volleyball pregame match on Wednesday, February 26, at the MSU-IIT Multipurpose Hall.

Both teams started aggressively in the first set, exchanging leads in a tight rally that saw them tied at 11-11. As the set progressed, CASS’ Tali found their rhythm, edging past COE’s Nova and sealing the frame with a 25-22 set victory.

Carrying their win into the second set, Tali quickly gained control, maintaining a steady lead while Nova fought to keep pace. Despite their efforts to mount a comeback, CASS held firm and closed out the match with a 25-21 win.

When asked about the secret behind their victory, John Mike Balde from BA Sociology shared that their team came prepared, knowing they would be facing the defending champions. Their focused training and strategic approach played a crucial role in securing the win.
