The College of Arts and Social Sciences’ (CASS) Tali snagged the bronze medal in the PALAKASAN 2025 Women’s Volleyball Tournament after nailing a straight-sets triumph, 2-0, against the College of Economics, Business, and Accountancy’s (CEBA) Aurelion on Sunday, March 23, at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium.
Right out off the bat, Tali came in swinging, quickly pulling ahead by a five-point lead midway at 13-8. Their consistent serves and well-coordinated floor defense left Aurelion scrambling to keep up in the opening set.
Sensing their chance to put their stamp on the match, Tali cranked up the pressure, stretching their lead even further, ultimately sealing the first set with a 10-point gap, 25-15.
However, CEBA’s Aurelion was not ready to throw in the towel just yet. They came into the second set hungry for redemption, riding the wave of CASS’ Tali consecutive errors. Adding some firepower to their serves, they racked up points and jumped to a 10-5 lead. With momentum on their side, Aurelion appeared determined to force a third set.
Despite this setback, Tali did not go down without a fight. Through sheer grit, focus, and determination, they gradually closed the gap and leveled the score at 17-17.
In the final stretch, CASS’ Tali kept their momentum rolling, driven by their determination to close out the match. They delivered clutch plays with precision, outlasting Aurelion in rallies. With their rhythm back, Tali powered through to claim the set, 25-21, completing their straight-sets victory to claim the bronze.
