by Bea Faye Eumague

The College of Arts and Social Sciences’ (CASS) Tali concluded its futsal journey after the College of Science and Mathematics’ (CSM) Blynx secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory in Match 8 of the PALAKASAN’s women’s futsal pre-games, held on Monday, March 17, at the Multipurpose Hall.

Both teams showcased strong defensive strategies, making the match tightly contested and leaving a very small margin for a breakaway toward either side.

Right from the start of the match, both teams displayed determination and tenacity, striving to break into their opponent’s solid defensive line.

Tali exhibited a fierce desire to win, launching coordinated attacks to penetrate Blynx’s stable defense. However, CSM remained resilient and unyielding.

The decisive goal came midway through the first half when CSM’s Blynx capitalized on a rare defensive lapse from CASS’ Tali, daringly moving past the goalkeeper from the side to score.

The second half saw relentless efforts from CASS to level the score, but CSM’s defense consistently denied every attempt, eventually stubbing the game at 1-0.

With this loss, CASS’ Tali exits the PALAKASAN women’s futsal tournament. Though their journey has been cut short, the team remains determined to learn from the experience and bounce back stronger in future competitions.
