The College of Arts and Social Sciences’ (CASS) Tali was denied its peak as the ball rolled in favor of Borealis and Blaze of the College of Education and Integrated Developmental School (CED-IDS) during the men’s futsal championship showdown of PALAKASAN 2025, with CASS ultimately clinching the silver medal in a hard-fought finish held at the Institute Multi-purpose Hall (MPH) on Thursday, April 3.
Right from the opening minutes, both teams engaged in a fierce battle for possession—feet clashing, momentum shifting, and pressure mounting as each side fought to take control.
In multiple attempts, the ball was kept at the line away by Tali’s Aldrean Maña. Nevertheless, after a couple of ball tosses and rapid turns, the CED managed to strike 3 goals during the first half.
Despite the mounting pressure, CASS stayed locked in. In the closing moments, CED aimed for another goal but was thwarted, adding to the tension.
Then, in a heart-racing sequence, the ball was juggled between players before finding its way to Ihraghel Nayawan of CASS. With skillful footwork and perfect timing, Nayawan delivered a powerful strike that sent the crowd into a frenzy, capping off a valiant effort from CASS despite the final score, polished at 3-1.
In an interview with Al-noor Guinal, Tali’s team captain, he shared the importance of communication amongst the team during the game. That of which, the team was not able to grasp fully.
All in all, the win might not have been for CASS this year, but just like any other year, the cheers and camaraderie of the game is still kicking and will continue to roll.
