In the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) continues to stand out globally after retaining its place in the rankings.
MSU IIT remains at #3 nationally, placing within the 1501+ bracket with Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, and Mapua University.
Notably, MSU-IIT garnered the highest international outlook among the other universities. This reflects the university's strong global research performance, international partnerships, and the participation of its students and faculty in activities abroad. According to THE, a strong international outlook allows universities to strengthen their global presence through active partnerships and exchange of knowledge with institutions abroad so they can thrive and succeed globally.
With this achievement, MSU-IIT reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence and global engagement. Being the only university outside Luzon in the rankings, it proudly represents Mindanao and the Philippines in the global academic arena.
